Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Birminghams best kept secret.

This is my new favourite place to meet friends for a nice chilled alcoholic beverage in Birmingham… Gone are the days when I would randomly try to pick a place to meet up for cocktails, instead its all about the uber tasty slushy cider (£3.40) served at The Lord Clifden.

Do not let the depressed street exterior fool you, it is only there to scare away the undeserving few. Take a step through the front doors and you”ll be transported in to a very clean and pleasant British pub… venture a little further and there awaits you– the secret garden of The Lord Clifden, a laid-back haven of happiness, reserved only for those precious few.

I”ve not yet found the secret passageway to Hogwarts, but I”d imagine it to be something like this.

In the secret beer garden you’ll discover a foosball table, ping pong table, art & a BBQ area!

For dinner, I ordered a Sombrero Burger – Cajun Chicken, coleslaw, cheddar and salsa.

I’ve only ever ordered a chicken burger once before in an American restaurant in London and after that experience I vowed to never order a chicken burger again… until today that is.

Blackened (Cajun spices) Chicken burger just like how my American brother-in-law makes it, with coleslaw (slapped on top of the chicken) to give it that extra creamy crunchy texture. If they can keep their chicken burgers always tasting this good… then I may not be ordering beef burgers again for a short while…

Oh yeah, so the BBQ is available from Friday-Saturday and we’ve been told that they make a real tasty Sunday roast.

So when the sun is back out, and even if its not, we’ll be back for the slushy cider and some Sunday roast!

Is The Lord Clifden worth it? - YES!
